Year 2 2019 - 2020

Mrs Ferguson

Deputy & Governor

A very warm welcome to Year 2.  I am the Deputy Headteacher here at St. Anne’s and the Year 2 teacher. I am also a trained Forest School teacher, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leader, Music subject leader, Maths Subject leader and Early Years lead/ KS1 leader.

I began teaching at St Anne's in September 2012 and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The children of St. Anne's are loving, caring, very hard-working and we have a strong sense of 'family' in our Y2 class.

I enjoy teaching exciting topics and having fun with lots of different, interactive, hands-on activities. We will be doing a range of practical work in all subjects as well as outdoor learning linked with our Forest School. I make sure that the whole of the curriculum is taught in Y2 so the children gain fabulous experiences in a range of different subjects such as art, DT, music, history, geography, science, PE and many more.

RE lessons and collective worship is very important in Y2 and the children begin to lead collective worship themselves by choosing readings and activities to think about. They really enjoy writing their own prayers and sharing these with the rest of the class. I lead the Children's Liturgy in my own parish and love to bring activities and ideas back with me into the Y2 classroom.

We are looking forward to a hard-working, fun-filled year with lots of learning and memorable experiences.

Mrs N. Ferguson
