Welcome to St Anne's Catholic Primary School

Christ at the heart of all we do!

Welcome to St Anne’s Catholic Primary School in Nantwich and thank you for visiting our website. We hope you will find it useful and informative, both as an introduction to our school community and as a useful resource. If you need any information that is not on our website please contact Mrs M Ashbrooke ( Office Manager) or Mrs H Brown  (Head Teacher) on the school phone number (01270 685353) or by email at

We are a Catholic School, working alongside our Catholic High school, St Thomas More in Crewe and other  Catholic schools in the Shrewsbury Diocese through our membership of The Diocesan Association of Primary Head Teachers. Our R.E. subject lead is Mrs E James, who is a member of the Diocesan working party, who develop teaching resources for use across the diocese.

We strive to live up to our Mission Statement, Christ at the heart of all we do, at all times.  We are a vibrant, lively and caring community, who look after each other, as well as the wider community and we have close links with our parish church of St Anne's.

Our Aim

The aim of the school is to provide our children with a holistic education: a love of learning and the self confidence to make the most of life’s opportunities; an enthusiasm for new challenges and to have a knowledge and love of God.  Our children are taught to uphold the Gospel values: caring for themselves and each other.

We are a thriving, vibrant, outstanding school, with hard working, happy children and staff, who are proud to be part of the St Anne's Community. We work closely with the Parish of St Anne's The St Vincent de Paul society support our Mini Vinnie group; we have regular visits from Father Daly and Deacon Peter and we play an active part in the parish's Sacramental programme.

We have a privately run day nursery on site, Sunflowers @ St Anne's:, who provide before and after school clubs and a holiday club, to support the needs of our busy, working parents.

St Anne's prides itself on its close working relationship with its parents, working together to provide high quality Catholic education for our children. Parents are welcomed into school regularly for assemblies, book sharing, productions, fund raising events and sports activities. The Friend's of St Anne's raise money to help pay for a variety of things around school eg. new fencing for our ball park, help towards the costs of educational visits; new home reading books, adult chairs for productions and assemblies and IPADS, to name just a few.  Find out more about our Friend's of St Anne's Group on the information tab ( FOSA). or contact:

We are also proud to be a Forest School. This is part of our drive to utilise the outdoor learning environment to have maximum impact on the children's learning.  EYFS and Year 1 have a weekly half day session to learn basic forest skills eg firelighting, tree climbing, den building etc as well as learning about nature. Year 2 have a weekly session linked to developing their writing skills or to complemement their science learning. The rest of the school use the forest as a resource across the curriculum and learn forest skills at the lunch time clubs and after school clubs. See Mrs Brown or Ms Bancroft for further information.

St Anne's is a member of the Nantwich Education Partnership. A strong group of sixteen primary and two secondary schools in Nantwich, who work together to provide high standards of education at all schools in Nantwich, through staff training; sharing good practise; hosting information events; employing a Special Needs Advisor and a family outreach worker, as well as hosting an annual Skoolsfest.
