St Anne's Mini Vinnies – ‘Turning concern into action’

Home

Mini Vinnies prayer

Lord, open our eyes that we may see the deepest needs of your people.

Move our hands that we may feed the hungry.

Touch our hearts that they may bring warmth to those who are sad.

Let us share our time and possessions with those in need.

Give us the care that strengthens the sick.

May we all be a source of support and encouragement for each other as we strive to build a more loving society.

Amen.

St. Anne's Mini Vinnies are quite literally mini St. Vincent de Paul’s. The group is run by our RE lead, Mrs James. The children come together to form a part of the St. Vincent de Paul Society in England and Wales, a voluntary organisation dedicated to tackling poverty in all its forms. Mini Vinnies meet to pray, discuss and support people to help make a difference in our local community.

Mini Vinnies truly turn concern into action as they use the simple guidelines of ‘SEE, THINK, DO’ to find people in need and help them.

St Anne’s Mini Vinnies turn concern into action by:

Regularly visiting a care home

Helping at parish events for the elderly

Making cards for the housebound

Raising funds for charities

Creating prayer focus areas in school

Mini Vinnies News

MacMillan Coffee Morning 2019

On the 20th of September the Mini Vinnies organised a coffee morning and cake sale to raise money for the MacMillan Nurses.  Many children in the school have had their lives touched by cancer and this annual event is an important part of the Mini-Vinnie year. This year we raised an amazing £251.88 - well done everyone.

Hearts to Homes 2020

CLICK HERE to read about how our Mini Vinnies completed a project with other schools in Nantwich to send local care homes some Christmas cards, made by the children. We delivered the Christmas cards and good wishes to those living in the homes that were under experiencing strick covid restrictions to keep them safe. St. Anne's children sang some carols (through the windows) to bring some Christmas cheer.

Advent Day 2019

Our Mini Vinnies entertained the ladies from Richmond Village retirement home;they served them tea and biscuits and completed some craft activities with them. The ladies thoroughly enjoyed and praised the mini Vinnies for their hard work.
